Good evening world builders! However temporary you may, or may not be. ( Everyone reading is counted as a world builder, if you leave as a world builder, or don't. that is your own choice and is only influenced by my intriguing and incredibly  well thought through comments, thoughts and ideas. )

Again, I didn't really have anything planned for today blog but I ended up having a pretty good idea just before I sat down. In my English class today we had to write a descriptive paragraph on one of several given scenes. I chose the one where a man was walking along a beach on a stormy day/night. This made me think about how our worlds are affected by the weather and other natural instances such as earth quakes and tornadoes.

Some planets in out solar system, such as mars, have actually been at a point where the entire planet has been consumed by a single storm. Imagine that? A storm so large that it is being experienced by every single creature on earth. Just a little fact, that storm that was on mars had been going on for so long, that it wasn't until recently did we ever get a photo of the actual surface of mars.

While building a world, an entire race of people could be wiped out from a tsunami, flood or earthquake. Also, these events cause great change in the actual physical world. Forming new lakes or mountains. Also, if you try and take a technical look on your world, you would have all the  mountain ranges placed along the edges of your world tectonic plates. This is because as the plates push against one another, they slowly push upward and thus, form mountains.  Another little fact, Mt. Everest is actually positioned right in the middle of two plate and because of this, it is constantly growing taller.

Alright, that's enough of my rambling. I hope that you might find something I said interesting or insightful. And, if you just cant wait for more of my world building rambles, I'll have another World Building Wednesday, next Wednesday.

Wow, I had no idea that a storm could envelope an entire planet! Or that Mount Everest was actually growing... as if it wasn't taller enough! lol

On the lines of tectonic plates, being from California, we have a lot of earthquakes (most are unnoticeable except by machine though)... but it's funny because we don't get too worried about being on fault lines. :dead:

Does Australia get earthquakes?
