For the third week in a row, I haven't had much time to think about what I would do for my world building Wednesday post.  And also, I have again used my English class for some inspiration for this particular post. We were doing a booklet on newspapers and the different sections. Paying attention to how each section is written. Editorials being more opinionated and etc. Anyway, I finished quite an amount of time before the other students so i took it  upon myself to take the book my friend had been reading and have a look. It was entitled "The Last Christian. " I had a quick look at the blurb and despite being a bit 'churchy', it seemed interested and I began reading.

It was based in the year 2088 where scientists have learned how to download the brain into a synthetic material and computers were all voice controlled and holographic. Although, not everything was as futuristic as I would have thought. The major cities were very much the 'cliche' futuristic style, but the jungles of new guinea were still very much the over grown, green and muddy places they are today. In fact, the book started with a woman rowing down a river to try and reach the city. She encountered some hostiles on 'old' motorboats that still used bows.

What do you think the world will look like in fifty, sixty or eighty years?  This is a pretty important question if your going to have your world based in the future.  It would also affect the timeline from now until then quite significantly.  Our world now, if you down already know, it in a pretty bad state.  IF were to even think about the world in eighty years, there needs to be a green energy break through otherwise earth is just going to be a wasteland.  If your going for a wasteland, then that's fine, but if your future earth is going to be all perfect and fancy, you will need to think about how it wasn't destroyed by the year 2030.

I hope this helps you think about world building. Especially if your worlds are affected by such a topic. See you Friday for my gaming post, Monday for my social post and another world building post. Since I forgot about my world building thread yesterday, I'm going to integrate it with this topic. And if it works, I might continue doing it that way from now on.

See you later,

Hmm... I can only see anything going into absolute chaos unless big changes are made.

Unless we like, get rid of money and work ferociously on cleaning up the planet, it doesn't seem like it's going to get much better... =(

Good journal though; thinking ahead is always important.
